On his return to France, he plundered his new source material and created the brilliant 1.0.8. For such sample-heavy hip hop, the album sounds amazingly fresh and vibrant. The likes of J.Dilla and Madlib are huge reference points, but the originality of the sources and the distinctly exotic, Eastern flavor to his work sets Onra apart from some of the more formulaic releases in this genre. The artist is now on a voyage of discovery through China scouring for new sound snippets.
